Lego’s Windmill Set Allows You To Stick It To The Zoning Board |

Town zoning board getting you down? Anti-wind organizations befuddling you with their concerns? Feeling the ache of not being able to install your own personal turbine? Well, now you can shut out the rest of the world and focus on this great new kit from Lego called “The Vestas Windmill Kit”.
Standing over two-feet tall, this model of alternative energy features a Vestas wind turbine, control center, and a van. But don’t expect to buy a bunch of these and string them up on your roof. While the turbine is motorized, it’s not generating its own power. That probably comes from batteries. Damn them!
Can the next Lego set please include a solar array to power this thing?
Still, I love it.

Sorry, Vestas promotion only, for internal use. Not for sale. It was supposed to be a secret until maybe a campaign could be launched.
Lego does not make new models for cheap, it takes a lot of volume and buying power from a large commercial customer like Vestas.

DAMN, I am working on a Wind Farm right now that is using Vestas turbines right now. It would be cool to have a lego version sitting on my desk.

Sadly the Lego company have only given this set out to vestas employees. however there are a large ammount apering on ebay. hopefully they will see sence and offer it to the rest of us.
with wind power been rather an important issue, surly allowing youngsters to build there own (even if battry powered) turbine, helps get then thinking and talking about the issue of alternative power sorces.

I’d love to have this set too, but we shouldn’t buy them from pricesharks (like Mark 25/9) who probably want ridiculous amounts of money since this is a limited set. Sure some Vesta employees who don’t like Lego are willing to offer them for a reasonable price at E-bay or so, but if we are crazy enough to pay hundreds of Euro’s for such a set they will get dollarsigns in their eyes too. I would say we pay max EUR 100 for this set and simply not purchase if people ask more money for it. There will be 20,000 released so it ain’t that exclusive unless we drive each other crazy…

These are absolutely hilarious. I am writer about alternative energy sources and this would be an absolute great addition to my collection of memorabilia. But I definitely agree that the people selling them are trying to gouge people on the price.

seriously I played with Legos in the 70’s when I was a kid, I realize that they still have nostalgia, like my old Lincoln logs. If you guys actually were impressed with that set then check out a real scale model wind tubine at lotus creative innovations, or do a search for “wind turbine trainer”. You will quickly grow out of it and to the next lightyear!
