Last night I had a chance to visit with Sara and Matt, the main architects behind the Live Lightly Tour. Sara, Matt and their Daughter Bella are currently traveling around the country in an RV powered by vegetable oil. (They’re attached car is even powered by veggie oil)
You can check them out here. They’ve been busy so far moving back and forth to different places getting the tour set up and now they are moving forward with it. Last night they were at a Co-op in Coralville, IA. Their next stop will be in my old home town, Fairfield, IA. After that they visit Wisconsin, Michigan and NY. There are other places on the tour list, just click here.
I’ve been following their progress for a while so it was great to finally meet them. I was hoping my kids might be somewhat interested in the fact that the RV runs on french fry oil, but they cared more about them having a home on wheels and that Bella had some awesome toys! (If you ask me, Matt and Sara have the coolest toys of the bunch!!)
I hope they are coming somewhere near you and you have a chance to check them out when they come by. It’s great to meet some people who are putting the rubber to the road (HA!!) when it comes to making a green difference.

The ‘Live Lightly Tour’ is coming to Sacramento on May 24th (according to the LJUrban website) and I am very excited to see the beautiful RV in person, meet the Janssen family, and hear more about their adventures and how it all works. I just think the whole project is too cool!
