Get the Ball Rolling to Get Plastic Bags Off the Streets

Last year, Americans used over 100 billion plastic bags. Fortunately, thousands of enlightened shoppers are changing the way they shop (for good), by pledging to get off the plastic. Join the movement and get the ball rolling. Together we can keep 1 billion plastic bags off our street this year.

I’ve been banging the anti-plastic drum for a while now and it’s great to see more and more people blogging about the issue. Reusable cloth shopping bags rock.

Can’t do it. Can’t take a pledge to not use plastic bags. Why? Well it’s simple… I haven’t used them for, like, 30 years! I have — and am still using, by the way — two of the first canvas bags made and sold by grocers back in the 70s, as well as new ones from the stores I shop now, as well as some (with cool messages such as “No Waste” and “Abundance” that I have made).

So you can see I am securely behind the issue.

Plastic bags suck! spread the word. I want to give a shout out to all those people that use biodegradable bags for picking up there dog poop too.

    Thanks for the great post.

Love my canvas totes!! Even the ones that are 20 years old. Was so disappointed when we moved to Ark and the “store” would not allow me to use them. The “store” is now all about tje 3 “R’s”and renovating to accomadate. About time!! No arguments about canvas totes and they are encouraging them 15 years later.
