In Washington D.C. this week teams of college students from all over the world are setting up their solar homes on the National Mall. It’s the third annual Solar Decathlon sponsored by the Energy Department as a way to get students interested in renewable energy. Each solar home will be judged by a panel of experts on a wide range of criteria. Many of the teams have been working on their particular home for more than two years. If you live in the D.C. area this would make for an interesting afternoon. The event offically opens on October 12 and lasts until Oct 20.
