magIf you aren’t already, you need to check out the Urban Sustainable Living Magazine published by the Garden Girl.  It’s delivered to your inbox (free!) every month, or two, and it’s chocked full of good useful information each and every time.

Their website is even interactive featuring videos with Mel Bartholomew discussing Sq Foot Gardening, among other topics.

This month they are discussing honey, sheet mulching and composting, among other topics.  (You can see this month’s cover to the left)

Check it out when you get a chance.

(If you have a chance, you can search for the Garden Girl in our video library as well)

    Hey,

Have you guys wrote recently about the massive lawsuit between Chevron and the indigenous tribes in the Amazon? They are fighting Chevron over massive groundwater contamination that has caused untold harm in that area. There are a few good sites on this battle. The case is supposed to be decided in the next few months.

Good to see that urban green living embraces – on the evidence of this magazine – a holistic approach, with composting seen as making a contribution towards reducing carbon dioxide emissions along with higher-tech projects such as solar power. Companies such as Sussex-based SolarUK could well be cheered by an uptake in photovoltaics next spring when the UK’s new Feed-in Tariff kicks in: small microgenerators will be offered a fixed, premium rate for renewable energy fed-in to the grid (previously this was not guaranteed).

A compost bin in every garden and a solar panel on every roof!
