With the release of An Inconvieninet Truth and the Discovery Channel’s recent show on Global Warming I find myself searching for more news and information regarding the subject. I came across a video from Technology Review, an MIT Enterprise.
The video is just a couple of minutes long, interviews of two scientists talking about the urgency of the global warming situation we are in. An offer of one potential method of CO2 capture called CCS, or Carbon Capture and Storage, where the CO2 is captured from the coal fired power plants and then pumped deep within the earth. Considering that coal power plants produce 37% of the CO2 polution we face this might be a good start. The implementation of such a system to handle the CO2 in this way on a large scale we will most likely not see. It doesn’t deal with the root issue of the problem, but may help us bridge the gap to a better solution. Any thoughts?
Check out the video for yourself.
