Recently I brought you an article about a couple of GG contributers who are pushing themselves to lower their personal carbon emissions by 93%.
Well, they’ve settled on 90% and have laid out some ground rules. Click here for Emme’s site and here for Sharon’s site.
You might read this and think “There is no way I can do 90%. These guys are crazy” and just blow them off. But don’t do that. I can’t do 90% either. But I can do something.
I’m going to take their baseline and compilation of information and figure out where I stand compared to the average American. And then I’m going to reduce it by some percentage. I don’t know what it will be yet, but I’ll do it. And then the next time I’m ready I’ll do another chunk. Maybe eventually I’ll get to the 90% figure. Maybe someday everyone will be at the 90% figure by default. Who knows. But we all need to get there.
